Natural England - Introduction

Introduction

Welcome to Natural England’s Live Evidence Register. This provides information on current projects that are generating the evidence we need.

We seek to develop evidence to:

  • Shape our wider understanding of the state of the natural environment, its value and how it is changing.
  • Inform the implementation of the ecosystem approach using a landscape framework.
  • Assess the impact of our interventions on the natural environment.
  • Consider what future interventions will secure the most favourable results.
  • Support national, local and voluntary organisations through accessible online information services such as MAGICexternal link.

The Register includes both long-term monitoring schemes and shorter research projects, grouped under eight themes. For each project it provides the title, description, contact name and the date when the evidence is expected to be published.

For published evidence see the Evidence and Analysisexternal link publications catalogue.

This is the third issue and we will continue to develop the Register for the benefit of Natural England’s partners, our own staff and our wider set of stakeholders.

We welcome your feedback on the structure and content of the Register. Please email comments to technicalinformationexchange@naturalengland.org.uk
