The Birds & the Bees on The Stiperstones National Nature Reserve
10am – 12.30pm Saturday 15th May
Join us for a mornings walk with local experts Leo Smith and Ian Cheeseborough on The Stiperstones. By mid May spring has sprung and the insects of the heath are coming to life, including some interesting bees and wasps. Migrant birds have arrived and add to the already busy bird population of The Stiperstones. With many of the wildflowers in full bloom there will be plenty to see on this walk.
Meet at 10am in the Knolls car park (grid ref: SO370977).
Events are free but booking is essential. Please phone Jenni Clegg on 01743 792294 or email jenni.clegg@naturalengland.org.uk to book your place.

There are 225 National Nature Reserves in England and they offer ideal opportunities for observing birds and wildlife.
Some operate restricted or seasonal access, so check before you travel.
National Nature Reserves were initially established to protect sensitive features and to provide ‘outdoor laboratories’ for research. Their purpose has widened since those early days and now, as well as managing some of our most pristine habitats, our rarest species and our most significant geology, most NNRs offer great opportunities to the public as well as schools and specialist audiences to experience England’s natural heritage.
